Our very first intern was Jennifer Bagdasian of Silver Spring, Maryland. We were absolutely thrilled when she chose us for her community service for an entire school year. Her enthusiasm was boundless. She will always be a star in our lives. She is now married and has a little girl.
We were delighted to have Molly Sloss for both her junior and senior years as our first intern from the DC Public Schools. Molly went to School Without Walls and to this day continues to be a volunteer for Global Harmony Through Personal Excellence, Inc. Her compassion and her dedication to bring out the best in others and giving her all to anything she does has earned our respect and eternal gratitude. We will be forever grateful for her presence in our lives. Molly graduated with Honors from University of Pennsylvania and now is a top notch teacher in a DC Montessori School
Please read Molly’s essay about why she chose Global Harmony Through Personal Excellence as her community service.
Currently we have Anjalie Gowda as an intern from Ellicot City, Maryland. She is extraordinary and, as a senior in High School, is busy applying to colleges.
We have many DCPS students who are volunteers and help us out in a big way with our Holiday Project. Clair O’Keefe, a student at Deal Middle School, is a regular at Christmas to help wrap. Two sisters, Kelly and Emma Harris have volunteered for over a decade, beginning when they were 6 and 4 buying gifts for homeless families. At 9 and 11 years of age, they showed up to help wrap, give advice, and decorate along with their friend Amelia. All three girls still volunteer, doing whatever is asked. They bring along other friends. They are our Holiday Super Stars.
